Claude Managed Agents adds background multi-agent workflows
Claude Managed Agents can now write workflows that run multiple agents in phases and combine their results. The beta feature is intended for work with many pieces, such as reviewing hundreds of documents.
What changed
Dynamic workflows are now available in beta for Claude Managed Agents. An agent can write a workflow program, which the server runs in the background. Developers can guide when runs start through the system prompt and follow progress through session events.
Why it may matter for your work
This could help teams coordinate large document reviews without manually dividing and recombining every task. Background runs may make multi-step agent work easier to manage.
What it can actually do
Write workflow programs, run many agents in phases, combine their results, and report workflow-run events.
Limits to check
Requires the managed-agents-2026-04-01 beta header and enabling workflows in the agent's multiagent field.
