Figma Specs launches to share project context with teams and AI agents
Figma is launching Specs, a shared home for project context on its canvas. Teams can develop specifications together and send them to coding agents through Figma’s MCP server.

What changed
Specs can hold shared decisions and reference diagrams, designs, code layers and other canvas work. Teams can bring in outside context with an agent, develop a detailed specification, and use it to build a code layer or hand it to a coding agent. Open beta rollout starts today on web, desktop and mobile.
Why it may matter for your work
Teams could keep implementation instructions closer to the designs and decisions they describe. That may make handoffs to developers and AI agents less fragmented.
What it can actually do
Create data reports and product requirements documents, develop specifications collaboratively, share canvas context with agents, and use specifications to build code layers.
Limits to check
Starting to roll out in open beta on web, desktop and mobile; will be available on all paid plans. No price is stated.
