How do I get my business mentioned by AI?

Practical steps that make it easier for ChatGPT and other AI assistants to find, understand and name your business. No guarantees, just the basics that help.

Updated 29 Oct 2026

The short answer AI assistants name businesses they can find and understand, and that other sites talk about. You can't force a mention. You can make yourself easy to name.

1. Make your homepage say what you do One plain sentence near the top: what you sell, who it's for and where. "Fresh sourdough, baked daily in Leeds" beats "Welcome to our world of passion".

2. Fix the basics a machine reads - A clear page title and meta description - One main heading - Structured data (for example, LocalBusiness or Organization) - Contact details that are easy to find

3. Be on the sites AI cites When ChatGPT answers with web search, it cites pages. Often they are directories, review sites, forums and comparison articles. Find which ones cite your rivals and get listed there honestly.

4. Answer real questions on your site Write short pages that answer what customers actually ask, in their words.

5. Check, then check again Answers vary. Check the same buyer question every few weeks rather than trusting one result.

Our free check covers steps 1, 2 and 5 for your homepage, and asks ChatGPT one buyer question.

Check your own site Run the free check on your homepage. It takes about a minute and needs no card. After you email yourself the result, we ask ChatGPT one buyer question and show whether it names you.
