What a website audit actually checks

A plain explanation of what our website check looks at, and what it can't see.

Updated 10/15/2026

The short answer Our check reads your page and looks at things you can verify: page titles and descriptions, headings, links, structured data, whether key facts are easy to find, and page speed when a speed measurement is available.

Worked example A homepage with no clear description, a missing main heading and a broken contact link would show three fixes. If speed couldn't be measured, it shows "Not measured" and doesn't count toward the score.

What it can't see It does not measure your actual rankings, your traffic, or whether ChatGPT or Google mention you. Anything it can't check stays unknown rather than being guessed.

Sources Google Search Central documentation on titles, snippets and structured data. Google PageSpeed Insights for speed.

Limitations The free check covers one page. The paid full audit covers up to 10 key pages.
